Frequently Asked Questions About My Private Practice Services:

1. How does it work?

First we speak for a few minutes on the phone to clarify your needs and whether they fit with my

services or not.  Then we schedule a 50 minute consultation to discuss your situation in my detail.

After the first visit, my clients can take a personality test (the MMPI-2) that will help me to get to

know you faster. It can make the therapy much more efficient.  The second session involves

feedback about the test results if you've taken the MMPI-2.  In the second session we try to

decide on the course of treatment.

2.  How long do I have to come?

The length of time varies on the person and their goals.  Brief,

solution oriented therapy as well as longer term supportive and growth oriented therapies are

    available.

3. How long are your sessions?

50 minutes. Sometimes people want more time and they schedule

a double sesion which is an hour and fourty minutes.

4. How much do you charge?  $165 per session.

5. Do you accept insurance?

Yes.  Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, and Medicare are just a few.  I do not accept

HMO's.  Please email or call the office with any questions that you have regarding your

     insurance.

6. Do you have a sliding scale?

Yes.  I have a few slots open at a time for sliding scale clients. You can email or call me to see

if any of them are open currently.  The lowest the scale goes is $125 per session.

6. Are our visits confidential?

Yes, with three exceptions:  If you tell me that you are planning on committing suicide, killing

someone, or that you know of a minor who is presently being molested.  By law, I am obligated to

try to protect you or the other person to be harmed and may have to break your confidence by

   calling the police for help.

7.  Do you have any special training?  Cognitive-behavioral training. EMDR for trauma release work and accelerated therapy.
